Channel Manager – Convenience & Forecourts
Talent Magpie is partnering with an established UK business to appoint an experienced and commercially focused Channel Manager – Convenience & Forecourts. This is a key commercial role with responsibility for developing and delivering the growth strategy across the UK convenience and forecourt channel.
With approximately 50,000 convenience stores operating across the UK, the opportunity is significant. Our client is looking for someone who can combine strategic channel development with hands-on commercial leadership, building strong customer relationships while supporting and developing both field and telesales activity.
The successful candidate will take ownership of channel growth, revenue performance, customer acquisition and distribution, while working closely with internal teams to ensure opportunities are converted effectively.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing and executing the overall Convenience & Forecourts channel strategy, identifying where the strongest opportunities exist and creating a clear plan to increase distribution, customer numbers, revenue and profitability. You will build and develop relationships across the channel, including:
- Symbol groups
- Fascia groups
- Independent retailers
- Forecourt operators
- Individual convenience stores

Alongside direct customer engagement, you will support and help drive the performance of telesales and field sales representatives, ensuring clear commercial objectives, strong activity levels and consistent delivery against targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the UK Convenience & Forecourts channel strategy.
- Identify opportunities across the approximately 50,000-store UK convenience market.
- Grow revenue, customer numbers, distribution and profitability.
- Build strategic relationships with key symbol groups, fascia groups, forecourt operators and independent retailers.
- Support, motivate and develop telesales and field-based sales teams.
- Take ownership of channel revenue targets and commercial KPIs.
- Establish clear weekly and monthly sales reporting processes.
- Ensure effective use of CRM across customer management, pipeline development and sales activity.
- Spend time in the field meeting customers, supporting the sales team and identifying new commercial opportunities.
- Work closely with internal teams across Marketing, Trading, Operations and Customer Service.
- Analyse customer and market trends to identify emerging opportunities within Convenience & Forecourts.
- Introduce structure, accountability and continuous improvement across the channel.
- Support the development of new routes to market and commercial partnerships.

What We Are Looking For
Talent Magpie is interested in speaking with commercially driven sales professionals who have experience operating within Convenience, Forecourts, FMCG, Wholesale or closely related channels.
You are likely to bring experience of:
- Managing and developing convenience or forecourt customers.
- Working with symbol groups, fascia groups, wholesalers or independent retailers.
- Supporting or leading field sales and/or telesales teams.
- Delivering against revenue and profitability targets.
- Developing commercial channel strategies.
- Using CRM and sales data to drive performance.
- Building relationships at both strategic and store level.
- Managing a geographically dispersed customer base.
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on — comfortable developing the commercial plan while still spending time with customers and supporting sales activity in the field.
National travel will form part of the position.
