Channel Manager - National Accounts
Location: Remote
Salary: up to £70,000 per annum + Car + Bonus

About the role
Reporting to the Group Sales Director, you will take ownership of our National Accounts channel, leading a talented commercial team while managing a portfolio of strategic accounts across three core sectors:
- National Fire & Security (Private Equity-backed "Buy & Build" businesses)
- National Fire & Security and Trade Accounts
- Retail, Pure Player and Omnichannel Accounts
You will be responsible for developing and executing the channel strategy, strengthening existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities for growth, and delivering sustainable revenue and margin improvements.
Given the importance of our PE-backed and acquisition-led customer base, you will also directly manage a selection of key strategic accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Proven background in National Accounts, with experience of Trade/B2B, Retail, and Pure Player/Omnichannel verticals.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels, inc C-Suite.
- Networker: cultivate strong networks, build genuine long-term relationships in an evolving marketplace.
- Strong business sense and commercial expertise.
- Strategic – innovate, implement, deliver the plan.
- Experience in recruiting, leading, mentoring and developing commercial teams, both field and office based.
- Deliver results through people.
- Set the rhythm & pace for the National Account team via rigid KPI management.
- Reporting/QBR: manage/maintain/present commercial performance metrics on a regular basis to business stakeholders at all levels.
- Business Planning & Forecasting: manage/maintain/present business plans & forecast metrics as part of an S&OP forum, and broader business planning/budget process, deliver against these metrics.
- Experience and knowledge of the Fire Protection sector, or similar sector ideally, but not essential.
- Technically orientated, and able to articulate technical topics/products in a sales environment.
- Cross-functional leadership: Coordinate internal teams such as marketing, category, finance, supply chain, and customer service to deliver the channel strategy.

Essential Skills & Experience
We're looking for a commercially astute leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on account management expertise.
You will ideally have:
- A proven background in National Account Management.
- Experience managing Trade, B2B, Retail, Ecommerce, Pure Player or Omnichannel customers.
- Strong new business development and account growth experience.
- Experience leading National Account Managers and Key Account Managers.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong commercial awareness with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Experience delivering sales forecasts, business plans and budget performance.
- The ability to analyse performance data and identify growth opportunities.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working within fast-paced, evolving commercial environments.

Desirable Experience
- Fire protection, life safety, security or technical product sector experience.
- Exposure to Private Equity-backed organisations and "Buy & Build" customer structures.
- Experience working with CRM platforms such as HubSpot.
- Understanding of ecommerce trading, online sales performance, pricing and promotional strategies.
