Role overview
The Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, driving and implementing channel marketing activity for selected groups of channel partners. The role will build strong partner relationships, deliver effective joint marketing plans and support the company’s growth, market-share and premium-brand objectives in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the end-to-end channel co-marketing planning process across OPPO, developing negotiating and delivering co-marketing activity with agreed carriers, distributors, retailers, resellers and e-commerce partners.
- Develop integrated channel marketing plans aligned with commercial priorities, product launches and brand strategy. Plans should make effective use of OPPO’s and its partners’ resources to drive growth, increase market share, strengthen relationships and build OPPO’s premium brand position with commercial targets and conversion in mind.
- Innovating and developing new marketing opportunities with channels.
- Work closely with sales, product, brand, digital, retail and finance teams, using product, customer and channel insights to shape plans and drive delivery across the business.
- Lead the execution of partner campaigns across retail, digital, e-commerce, CRM, social media, events & partner communications, ensuring activity is on-brand, accurate, on time & within budget.
- Work closely with EU Marketing function to build plans and develop opportunities with partners.
- Development ad management of UK channel assets.
- Build strong relationships with channel partners, acting as the lead marketing contact for agreed accounts and managing external design and media agencies and other suppliers where required.
- Own channel marketing budgets, including planning, forecasting, approvals and reconciliation, and evaluate performance against measures such as revenue contribution, sell-through, market share, customer engagement and campaign ROI.

Qualifications and experience

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- At least three years’ experience in a relevant marketing position.
- Previous experience as a Channel Marketing Manager, or experience working with an operator, retailer or distribution channel in the smartphone industry, consumer-electronics, telecommunications or other technology sector.
- Experience of managing marketing budgets, ideally within a channel marketing environment.
- A strong understanding of the structure and landscape of the UK smartphone industry, particularly its mobile network operator, retail or distribution channels.
- Knowledge of UK retail, e-commerce and mobile network operator marketing practices.
- Experience managing agencies, suppliers or partner marketing funds.
- Project-management experience, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, stakeholders and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and organizational skills. Professional fluency in English.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use performance data to evaluate campaigns and recommend improvements.
