We have an exciting opportunity for a Charge Nurse to join our Central Vaccination Service and help shape the future of vaccination delivery across the Dundee area.

As part of NHS Tayside’s Public Health Directorate, the Central Vaccination Service sits at the forefront of public health and prevention, delivering essential vaccination programmes that protect communities across Tayside. From high-volume clinics to outreach work and care home delivery, our team plays a crucial role in improving population health, reducing inequalities, and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Charge Nurse, you will provide visible, hands-on leadership within the Dundee team, supporting staff, coordinating clinics, and ensuring safe, effective, and efficient service delivery.

This is your opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a fast-paced, high-impact service, where you will:

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day clinic operations across Dundee
  • Provide line management and staff support, through promoting wellbeing and resilience.
  • Ensure safe staffing and high-quality care delivery
  • Support specialist services, including Out of Schedule and Travel Health clinics
  • Drive clinical governance, patient safety, and continuous improvement

As a Charge Nurse Immuniser, you will be a confident and compassionate leader who can support and motivate teams. You will be able to thrive in a busy, evolving service environment, and be comfortable managing workforce situations with professionalism and empathy.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The preferred candidate will be a Registered Nurse or Midwife with current UK NMC registration and a strong commitment to leadership and service excellence. As part of a Tayside-wide service, there may be an occasional requirement to support adjacent areas; therefore, you must have the ability to travel independently throughout Tayside.
