Charge Nurse Opportunity at Faversham Cottage Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Charge Nurse to join our rehabilitation team at Faversham Cottage Hospital.
Our service provides specialist rehabilitation interventions for patients with complex and long-term conditions, delivering high-quality, personalised care to support recovery and enable safe discharge home. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team aligned to local Primary Care Networks, you will play a key role in providing integrated, patient-centred care.
Responsibilities
As Charge Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership and operational support to the ward team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will:
- Coordinate patient care
- Support staff development
- Contribute to service improvement
- Promote the highest standards of nursing practice
Required Skills and Experience
We are looking for a Registered Nurse with excellent leadership, communication, and clinical skills. Experience in rehabilitation, intermediate care, frailty, or caring for patients with complex needs is desirable.

Key Tasks
- Removal of catheters
- Administering medication
- Changing wound dressings
- Managing a caseload
- Supporting in the supervision and development of all junior staff including Healthcare Assistants and students
- Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of holistic care linked to packages of prescribed care
- Development of integrated care programmes in partnership with the patient
About the Organisation
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is due to integrate with Medway Community Healthcare on 1 October 2026.
