Step into Leadership: Join Us as a Chargehand
Location: East Grinstead Household Waste Recycling Centre
Pay rate: £13.96
Working days: Mon, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (days off Tuesday & Wednesday)
Working hrs:
- Summertime (1st of April - 30th Sept): 8:45 am - 18:15
- Wintertime (1st of October - 31st of March): 8:45 am - 16:15
Are you ready to take the next step in your career? As a Chargehand, you'll work closely with the Site Supervisor to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our recycling centre. This role offers the chance to make a real difference while supporting sustainability efforts in your community.
Your Core Responsibilities.
- Assist the Site Supervisor in managing daily site operations, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently
- Act as the Site Supervisor in their absence, gaining valuable management experience
- Maximise waste segregation to boost recycling rates and reduce environmental impact
- Help site users and visitors sort and deposit waste safely and effectively
- Oversee site cleanliness, traffic control, and equipment upkeep to ensure a safe and organized environment
- Monitor and manage waste in line with site licences, Health & Safety standards, and environmental regulations
