This hands-on role will use your project management, business growth and partnership skills to develop new opportunities, funding streams and projects, helping us reach more neurodivergent people, families, carers and friends.

We are looking for someone with the experience, energy and vision to help our award-winning charity move into its next chapter.
We have pioneered our approach to supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of neurodivergent people, families, carers and friends. We have built a strong foundation, but the sector is changing and becoming increasingly competitive. To remain sustainable, relevant and able to reach the people who need us, we now need to grow, adapt and look at new ways of working.

We are looking for someone with experience in project management, business development, growth, strategic planning, partnerships or a similar field. You will be able to look at our organisation with fresh eyes, identify opportunities and help us turn them into practical action.
The ideal volunteer will be
- Commercially aware, while understanding the purpose and values of a charity.
- Able to identify new markets, partnerships, funding opportunities and potential income streams.
- Experienced in developing and managing projects from ideas through to delivery.
- Confident in building relationships and opening doors to new opportunities.
- Strategic enough to see the bigger picture, but practical enough to get things done.
- Creative, forward-thinking and willing to challenge existing ways of doing things.
- Organised and able to help us prioritise where our time and resources will have the greatest impact.
- Collaborative and comfortable working with trustees and a passionate volunteer team.
- Compassionate and willing to understand the needs of the neurodivergent community and those who support them.
You do not need to have worked specifically in neurodiversity, but an understanding of the charity, wellbeing or community sector would be valuable.
This is a hands-on role. We are not looking for someone simply to tell us what we should do. We need someone who can work alongside us to explore opportunities, develop ideas, build relationships, manage projects and help deliver change.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who understands that standing still is not an option. We want to build on what we have pioneered, embrace change and find new ways to grow and remain sustainable in an increasingly competitive environment.

What will you be doing?
Key deliverables for the volunteer role
Develop a clear growth strategy
- Understand the charity's current services, beneficiaries and impact.
- Identify where the charity wants to be in 3 years
- Produce a realistic growth plan that recognises the organisation is volunteer-led and has limited resources.
- Identify the priority areas rather than trying to pursue every opportunity.
Identify and develop new income streams
- Research potential funding opportunities, grants, sponsorships and partnerships.
- Explore opportunities with businesses, local authorities, NHS/social-care organisations, education trusts and foundations.
- Identify potential earned-income or social-enterprise opportunities where appropriate.
- Develop a pipeline of opportunities and prioritise them by potential impact, effort and likelihood of success.
Build strategic partnerships
- Identify organisations that share the charity's aims around neurodivergence, hypermobility, physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing, families and carers.
- Develop partnership proposals and approaches.
- Help establish relationships that can lead to referrals, joint projects, funding or wider reach.
Project management
- Turn agreed opportunities into manageable projects.
- Establish objectives, milestones, responsibilities and timescales.
- Introduce simple project-management systems that volunteers can actually maintain.
- Monitor progress and identify risks, delays and resource requirements.
Strengthen the charity's proposition
- Develop clear propositions for different audiences, donors, funders, corporate partners, commissioners and community organisations.
- Ensure growth remains aligned with the charity's values and charitable objectives.
Increase reach and impact
- Identify ways to reach more neurodivergent people, families, carers and friends.
- Explore community partnerships.
- Assess which existing activities have the greatest potential to scale.
