About Us
We are a charity dedicated to supporting young people in crisis. Our mission is to provide compassionate and confidential help to young people up to the age of 25 who are at risk of suicide.
We do this through:
- Providing a safe, non-judgemental space for young people in crisis.
- Offering emotional support to reduce suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
- Helping young people develop resilience and coping skills for future challenges.
- Ensuring our services are free, inclusive, and accessible to all within Hampshire and surrounding areas.
- Raising awareness, challenging stigma, and promoting zero tolerance of suicide through community engagement.
About the Role
We are seeking a Manager to help us strengthen and grow our charity and manage day-to-day operations. This is an opportunity for someone with experience in young people’s mental health and/or charity development who wants to make a tangible difference to their community in a small, welcoming charity.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Development
- Advise and support trustees in developing and implementing a sustainable strategy for growth and service delivery.
- Identify opportunities for funding, partnership, and collaboration.
- Support the development of operational plans, policies, and governance structures.

Fundraising
- Lead or support funding applications (grants, tenders, donations).
- Develop relationships with funders, local authorities, and partner organisations.
- Support income generation through events, partnerships, and campaigns.
Community Engagement and Awareness
- Represent the charity at networking events, local forums, and relevant meetings.
- Build relationships with voluntary organisations and community groups.
- Promote the charity’s aims and challenge stigma around mental health and suicide.
Service Support and Monitoring
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of programmes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, safeguarding, and governance requirements.
Communications and Visibility
- Support the preparation of promotional materials.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience (paid or voluntary) within the mental health or youth support sector, ideally relating to suicide prevention or crisis intervention.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with trustees and volunteers.
- Commitment to the charity’s mission, values, and non-judgemental approach.
- Understanding of local statutory and voluntary sector services in Hampshire.

Desirable:
- Experience of developing and growing a charity or voluntary organisation.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and ethical practice.
- Experience of fundraising, bid writing, or partnership development.
- Lived experience of mental health challenges (self or family) is welcomed.
