Charity Treasurer

Bring your financial expertise to Cherry Trees' Board of Trustees, working closely with the Chair to guide the charity's long-term financial direction.

Working arrangements

  • Location: East Clandon, Surrey
  • Salary / Pay: Voluntary (unpaid)
  • Shift Pattern: Approximately 3 hours per month, including quarterly Board meetings

About Cherry Trees

Cherry Trees provides specialist, home-from-home care for children with complex disabilities across our two homes in Surrey and Hampshire, giving families a vital break, while helping children build confidence and independence. Our East Clandon home has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted four years running.

What you'll be doing

Board oversight

  • Provide financial guidance to the Board of Trustees and Chair
  • Attend quarterly Board meetings and support ongoing financial oversight
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance on key decisions

Financial governance

  • Monitor and report on the charity's financial health
  • Ensure robust financial systems, controls and reporting are in place
  • Oversee annual accounts, audits and statutory financial returns

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience in financial management or accountancy
  • Understanding of charity finance and reporting requirements
  • Comfortable committing around 3 hours per month including quarterly meetings
  • Strong analytical skills and clear financial reporting ability
  • Willing to work closely with the Chair and Head of Finance
  • Committed to financial integrity and transparency
