Join a Movement Changing the Odds for Young People

RISE UP is dedicated to empowering young people aged 16-30 to realise their potential and start a career without limitations. The charity supports young individuals to develop their skills, and works closely with employer and community partners to create opportunities for meaningful, sustainable employment. We believe that young people are not lacking talent, ambition, or drive - the system needs to change.

We unlock the talent of young people furthest from the labor market and build accessible pathways into meaningful employment. As a Trustee, you won't just hold a title; you will help guide a charity with real momentum.

In this role, you will support us to:

  • Strengthen Governance: Build systems, policies, and financial controls aligned with Charity Commission standards to support sustainable growth.
  • Protect Our Purpose: Ensure youth voice, lived experience, and accountability stay at the heart of everything we build.
  • Expand Our Reach: Unlock funding opportunities to scale proven programs and test new, innovative models.
  • Scale Pathways: Expand employer partnerships and opportunities for young people.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for collaborative, entrepreneurial thinkers who bring energy, curiosity, and a commitment to systemic change. We are particularly interested in welcoming candidates with experience in:

  • Finance & Audit: Charity finance, budgeting, financial controls, risk, and long-term sustainability.
  • Governance: Board effectiveness, compliance, policy oversight, or administration/Board Secretary experience.

We also welcome applications from individuals bringing expertise in youth employment, safeguarding, communications, entrepreneurship, or lived experience of the barriers young people face.

If you are looking for a quiet, ceremonial board role, this isn’t it. If you want impact, purpose, and a mission that truly matters, we'd love to hear from you.

Role Description

Trustees contribute to the strategic direction of the charity, participate in board meetings, and review plans, policies, and performance to ensure the organisation remains aligned with its mission. The role involves oversight of governance, financial stewardship, risk management, and compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. Trustees collaborate with fellow board members and senior staff to support fundraising efforts, build partnerships, and advocate for the needs of young people. Responsibilities include preparing for and attending board and committee meetings, reviewing reports and budgets, offering informed guidance, and acting as an ambassador for RISE UP within the community.
