Our client is a modern, friendly accountancy business looking for an ambitious Practice Accountant to join their small, close-knit team.

The firm provides accountancy, personal tax and corporation tax services to individuals, sole traders, partnerships and small to medium-sized businesses, including both established businesses and start-ups.

Our client prides itself on building honest, close and long-lasting relationships with its clients, providing a personal and professional service.

The Role

Our client is looking for a Practice Accountant, ideally part-qualified, fully qualified or recently qualified, to join their team. The role offers a varied mix of work, including handling statutory accounts, completing personal and corporation tax returns, bookkeeping and looking after a portfolio of clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to develop their career within a modern, supportive practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and handling statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
  • Completing personal and corporation tax returns.
  • Supporting with VAT returns and bookkeeping.
  • Looking after a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact.
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Responding to client queries and providing a professional, personable service.
  • Managing client accounts and maintaining accurate records.
  • Meeting deadlines and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
  • Supporting the wider practice team with general accountancy work.

About You

Our client is looking for an ambitious and driven accountant who enjoys client interaction and is keen to build a long-term career within practice. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Be part-qualified, fully qualified or recently qualified.
  • Experience handling statutory accounts and completing tax returns.
  • Strong accounts and tax knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take on responsibility.
