Chartered Building Surveyor

London | Consultancy
Salary up to £55k

Looking for a role where you can take real ownership of your work and continue building your reputation as a Chartered Building Surveyor?

We're working with a growing property and construction consultancy that is strengthening its Building Surveying team and looking for an experienced MRICS Surveyor to join the business.

The role offers the chance to work closely with senior members of the team, take responsibility for your own instructions and gain exposure to a technically varied workload across commercial, residential, education and public sector properties.

There is also the opportunity to develop your experience within cladding, fire safety and remediation, making this a particularly strong option for a Surveyor looking to broaden their technical expertise.

What you'll be doing as the Chartered Building Surveyor:

  • Undertaking building surveys, condition assessments and defect investigations.
  • Providing advice on building pathology, maintenance and remedial works.
  • Acting as Contract Administrator on refurbishment, repair and improvement projects.
  • Carrying out cladding and fire safety assessments and supporting remediation projects.
  • Advising clients on Building Regulations, compliance and associated technical matters.
  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work, technical reports and schedules of condition.
  • Undertaking dilapidations and technical due diligence assignments.
  • Providing pre-acquisition and general professional surveying advice.
  • Managing client relationships and taking responsibility for project delivery.
  • Supporting junior members of the team and contributing to their professional development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
