Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and delivering a varied portfolio of Building Surveying instructions, taking responsibility for projects from inception through to completion.
• Undertaking technical surveying work across areas including dilapidations, contract administration, schedules of condition, pre-acquisition surveys and building condition surveys.
• Managing client relationships, providing professional advice and building trusted, long-term relationships with existing and new clients.
• Preparing reports, specifications and schedules, ensuring work is delivered to a high professional and technical standard.
• Managing contract administration and project-related instructions, where required, working closely with clients, contractors and other professional advisers.
• Supporting business development, identifying opportunities within existing client relationships and contributing to the development of new business.
• Working collaboratively across the wider consultancy, identifying opportunities to combine surveying, engineering, project management and construction expertise to provide clients with integrated solutions.
• Working closely with senior colleagues and Directors, contributing to the development of the Building Surveying service and sharing ideas around systems, processes and best practice.
• Supporting and developing junior members of the team, sharing technical knowledge and contributing to a collaborative and high-performing working environment.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an ambitious MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor with solid commercial Building Surveying experience who is looking to take the next step in their career within a growing consultancy. You will be technically capable, commercially aware and confident working directly with clients, while having the ambition to continue developing your skills and experience.

Ideally, you will have:

• MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor status with relevant commercial Building Surveying experience.
• Strong technical capability across areas such as dilapidations, contract administration, schedules of condition, pre-acquisition surveys and building condition surveys.
• Experience managing your own projects and instructions, with the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek support.
• Strong client-facing skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and other professional advisers.
• Excellent report writing and technical communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• A commercially aware and proactive approach, with an interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business development.
• The ability to manage workloads effectively, prioritise competing demands and deliver work to a high standard.
• An ambitious and collaborative attitude, with the desire to develop your own career while contributing to the growth of the wider team and business.
