Chartered EWS1/FRAEW Consultant

Salary: £80,000–£110,000

The Opportunity

An established consultancy is looking to appoint a Chartered FRAEW / EWS1 Consultant to join its growing Fire Safety and Building Compliance team in London. The business has an established presence across fire safety and building compliance, with over 15 years' experience in the sector. It is affiliated with the IFE and IFSM, is BAFE 205 accredited, and has recently strengthened its senior leadership across Fire Engineering and FRAEW.

You will join a growing but established technical team, working alongside two existing Chartered professionals who currently lead the technical review and sign-off of the team's external wall work. The role is predominantly technical, suited to someone who wants to remain close to the assessment, review and sign-off of external wall projects rather than move into a heavily commercial or management-focused position. As the team continues to expand, you will play an important role in maintaining technical quality, supporting peer review activities and helping shape the ongoing development of the consultancy's FRAEW and EWS1 capability.

You will work across a range of residential, high-rise, mixed-use and higher-risk buildings, supporting clients through external wall assessments and cladding remediation programmes. This is an opportunity to join the business at a point of significant growth, with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the team's technical capacity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
