Chartered Financial Planner / Senior Chartered Financial Planner / Director, Financial Planning

Location: Bristol or Exeter

A leading UK private bank and wealth management firm is looking to appoint an experienced Chartered Financial Planner to join its growing Wealth Planning team.

Whether you're an established Chartered Financial Planner, a Senior Chartered Financial Planner, or operating at Director level, this is an excellent opportunity to work with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients as part of a collaborative team alongside Private Bankers and Investment Managers.

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in delivering holistic financial planning advice, helping clients achieve their long-term financial objectives through tailored, compliant and commercially focused solutions. This is a relationship-led position where you'll work closely with colleagues across banking and investment management to identify opportunities and provide an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver holistic financial planning advice to High-Net-Worth clients.
  • Build long-term trusted relationships with clients and professional introducers.
  • Work collaboratively with Relationship Managers and Investment Managers to identify planning opportunities.
  • Generate fee-based financial planning business and support business growth.
  • Provide technically robust, compliant and client-focused advice.
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality suitability reports and client documentation.
  • Maintain accurate client records and manage the full advice process.
  • Ensure all advice is delivered in line with FCA regulations and internal governance standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the firm's financial planning proposition.

About You

  • Chartered Financial Planner (Level 6) is desirable, however close to Chartered status individuals might be considered.
  • Strong experience advising High-Net-Worth clients on holistic financial planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of pensions, investments, tax planning, protection and estate planning.
  • Strong understanding of FCA regulation and the financial planning advice process.
  • Experience using cashflow modelling software.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
