Chartered Mechanical Engineer

Up to £85,000 NET + Luxury Accommodation + Full Relocation Package

ITAS is supporting the appointment of an experienced Chartered Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering & Assurance function of a major long-term government defence construction programme.

This is a senior, HQ-based technical position focused on Mechanical Building Services design assurance, contractor design review, and engineering compliance across major facilities and infrastructure projects.

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The Role

The successful candidate will provide specialist mechanical engineering assurance throughout the detailed design and delivery process.

This is not a traditional full-time site supervision role. The position is primarily based at programme headquarters in Riyadh and will involve reviewing and challenging contractor design output, resolving technical issues, and ensuring that mechanical systems comply with project requirements, specifications, and recognised engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical construction drawings, design calculations, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Review and assess material submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and contractor technical proposals.
  • Carry out mechanical design assurance and verify compliance with approved design intent, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Review HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and associated Mechanical Building Services systems.
  • Identify technical risks, design inconsistencies, and areas of non-compliance.
  • Provide clear technical recommendations and support engineering decision-making.
  • Monitor contractor detailed design progress and support the resolution of technical issues affecting programme delivery.
  • Prepare technical queries, engineering assurance reports, observation notes, and support the resolution of non-conformances.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Civil/Structural, Architectural, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and programme stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
