About The Role

A Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager is sought by a long-established multidisciplinary consultancy in Birmingham. This permanent position offers a salary between £45,000 and £65,000, complemented by a pension and bonus package. The role suits a recently MRICS-qualified professional, or someone with equivalent experience, who can manage both costs and delivery. Your workload will focus on high-value cladding remediation for large residential blocks, alongside education, healthcare, and commercial schemes. You will handle either the financial or managerial side, depending on your background, with full support for developing the other. This is a full-time office-based role requiring a solid grasp of both disciplines.

Projects are generally of high value and there is a particular need currently for people to work on cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings along with other residential, education, healthcare and some commercial projects.

You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in project management or you may be a Project Manager who has a good handle on the cost management side of projects.


The Company

My client is a long established busy firm of multi disciplinary consultants with several offices.


The Candidate

You will either be an MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor with an interest in Project Management or a Project Manager with some experience of cost management.

You must have experience of working with another firm of consultants / PQS.

You need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

You must be able to do both pre and post contract work.

You should have used JCT contracts.

You need to be able to do contract administration, organise meetings, take minutes etc.

You will ideally be keen to do a mix of quantity surveying and project management.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.

My client will offer good prospects for rapid promotion for the right person.


Salary and Benefits

Salary is in the region of £45,000 to £65,000 negotiable plus benefits including pension, life assurance, interest free season ticket loan, healthcare cash plan and more.
