Chartered Surveyor (Commercial Real Estate Finance)

Initial 6-Month Contract | Potential to Become Permanent

Are you a commercially-minded Chartered Surveyor looking to apply your real estate expertise within one of the world's leading financial institutions?

We're exclusively supporting a global investment bank as it looks to appoint an Associate-level Chartered Surveyor to join its European Real Estate Finance platform. Initially offered as a six-month contract, the role has genuine potential to be extended and, for the right individual, could ultimately become a permanent appointment.

This is a rare opportunity to move beyond pure valuation work and become involved in the underwriting of sophisticated commercial real estate lending transactions across Europe, working alongside experienced lenders, investors and capital markets professionals.

The Opportunity

Joining a highly regarded Real Estate Finance team, you'll assess investment and development lending opportunities across a broad range of sectors including offices, logistics, residential, retail, hotels and operational real estate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Working on transactions across the UK and wider Europe
  • Analyse valuations, cash flows, market dynamics and transaction structures
  • Present recommendations to senior credit and investment committees

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their career beyond traditional surveying into institutional real estate lending.

We're Interested in Speaking to People From Backgrounds Such As:

  • Commercial valuation teams undertaking lender or investment valuations
  • Capital Markets or Transaction Advisory teams within leading surveying practices
  • In-house valuation teams at lenders, banks or institutional investors
  • Development or Investment professionals working for developers
  • Professionals from smaller investment or development businesses where roles combine acquisitions, asset management and development exposure

Experience of both investment and development assets would be highly advantageous, while European market exposure would be a bonus, although not essential.
