About The Role

A Chartered Tax Accountant is required to join an established Private Client team in Devon, offering a hybrid working pattern. This full-time or part-time position suits a professional with at least two years’ post-qualification experience. The role moves beyond routine compliance, focusing on delivering broader advisory services to a diverse clientele, including farmers, landowners, and high net worth individuals. Responsibilities cover personal tax, capital gains tax, trusts, and estates. The salary range is £65,000 to £70,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge and a consultative approach to client service, with the ability to develop bespoke tax planning strategies.

Chartered Tax Accountant, 2+ Years PQE, Devon / Hybrid, £50,000+ (DOE) – A new opportunity for an experienced Chartered Tax Accountant to join an established Private Client team.

REF: 5200

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients and wants more than a purely compliance-focused role. The team's existing private client tax work includes personal tax, capital gains tax, trusts and estates, together with associated administration. We now want to build on this foundation and develop a broader advisory offering.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
