About the Company
Contechs are recruiting on behalf of a leading high-performance automotive OEM. They are seeking a Chassis Braking Systems Project Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, supporting the delivery of advanced vehicle programmes.
Job Description
As a Chassis Braking Systems Project Engineer, your main responsibilities are:
- Lead the delivery of chassis braking systems to meet design, performance, cost, and timing targets.
- Develop and manage technical specifications, DFMEAs, DVPs, design reviews, and component releases.
- Support concept development, packaging studies, detailed design activities, and engineering calculations.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure successful design, development, validation, and production readiness.
- Support prototype and production builds, investigating and resolving engineering issues.
- Represent the chassis engineering team during design reviews, test activities, and programme meetings.

Qualifications / Skills Needed
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer within automotive chassis or braking systems.
- Strong knowledge of brake discs, calipers, brake performance, and integrated parking brake systems (EPB).
- Experience with brake pipes, hoses, brake cooling ducts, and associated braking components.
- Knowledge of technical specifications, DFMEA, DVP, design reviews, and component validation processes.
- Experience supporting vehicle builds from prototype through to production.
- Understanding of CAD/CAE tools and engineering release processes.
- Experience working with suppliers and managing component development activities.
- Knowledge of SAP part structuring and component engineering releases.
- Experience defining pedal box, pedal-to-booster systems, validation plans, and test standards.
- Strong problem-solving and project delivery skills within an automotive environment.
