Contechs are recruiting on behalf of their client, a leading automotive organisation at the forefront of vehicle engineering and innovation. They are looking for a Chassis Project Engineer - Steering Systems to join their expanding team on a contract basis.
As a Chassis Project Engineer - Steering Systems, your main responsibilities will include:
- Lead the delivery of steering system development activities across vehicle programmes.
- Create and maintain technical specifications for steering system components and assemblies.
- Develop and manage Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs) to support robust product development.
- Coordinate and release Engineering Releases (ER) and Management Releases (MR) in line with programme requirements.
- Manage project timing, deliverables, and milestones to ensure successful programme execution.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver steering system solutions that meet performance, quality, and cost targets.
- Support commercial discussions and provide engineering input to ensure cost-effective design and delivery decisions.

Qualifications / Skills Needed
- Proven experience as a Chassis Steering Systems Project Engineer within the automotive industry.
- Strong background in technical specification creation.
- Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of engineering cost implications.
- Experience managing project timing plans and delivering to programme milestones.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Automotive, or a related Engineering discipline is preferred.
