Cheese Counter Team Member
As a Cheese Specialist at Jarrolds, you'll bring a passion for artisan cheese together with exceptional customer service to create memorable experiences for every guest. Working across both our Cheese Counter and Wine Bar, you'll share your knowledge, recommend perfect pairings, and deliver warm, engaging hospitality that encourages customers to explore and enjoy our carefully curated range.
Whether helping customers select the ideal cheese for a celebration, preparing beautiful cheese boards, or serving guests in the Wine Bar, you'll be an ambassador for quality, provenance, and outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service across both the Cheese Counter and Wine Bar.
- Offer knowledgeable advice on artisan, British, and continental cheeses, tailoring recommendations to customers' tastes and occasions.
- Recommend complementary wines, accompaniments, and deli products to enhance the customer experience.
- Prepare, cut, wrap, and present cheeses to the highest standards.
- Create and serve attractive cheese boards and sharing platters in the Wine Bar.
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene, and stock rotation standards.
- Ensure displays remain visually appealing, well-stocked, and seasonally relevant.
- Develop a strong understanding of our suppliers, cheesemakers, and product provenance.
- Support tasting events, seasonal promotions, and product demonstrations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Food Hall and Hospitality teams.

About You
You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys sharing your enthusiasm for great food and creating memorable experiences for customers.
You'll have:
- A passion for artisan cheese and a curiosity to continually expand your product knowledge.
- A love of hospitality and making people feel welcome.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with confidence engaging customers from all backgrounds.
- Experience in retail, hospitality, food service, or a specialist food environment (preferred but not essential).
- An eye for presentation and attention to detail.
- The ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- A positive, flexible approach and willingness to work across different departments.
- A team-focused attitude and pride in delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Jarrolds is open 7 days a week and are looking for someone who can work to the needs of the business. Shifts will be mainly daytime with some evenings to cover events and wine bar openings.
