Job Title: Chef

Location: Farmer Copleys Farm, Pontefract

Salary: Up to £14.00 per hour dependant on experience

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time, Permanent.

We're looking for an experienced Chef who takes pride in producing great food and enjoys working as part of a friendly, hardworking team.

About Farmer Copleys

Farmer Copleys is a much-loved Yorkshire farm and food destination, home to an award-winning farm shop, our popular Moo Café, an on-site bakery, butchery, and a busy events business.

Our café is open seven days a week and serves a seasonal menu, daily specials, and food made using quality local produce. Our meat is sourced from our award-winning on-site butchery, and throughout the year we cater for thousands of visitors across our café, events, and seasonal festivals.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you'll help deliver consistently high-quality food for our café customers and events.

Your Role Will Include

  • Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
  • Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Helping create dishes that look and taste great
  • Working with fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation
  • Following food safety and allergen procedures
  • Helping monitor food quality, waste, and kitchen costs
  • Supporting your colleagues during busy services
  • Contributing to a positive, professional, and friendly kitchen environment

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has professional kitchen/chef experience
  • Has a genuine passion for good food
  • Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality dishes
  • Works well under pressure during busy services
  • Is organised, reliable, and a strong team player
  • Has good knowledge of food hygiene and allergen requirements
  • Has excellent practical cooking skills and attention to detail
  • Is happy to get stuck in and support the wider kitchen team

Professional qualifications are desirable, but practical experience and the right attitude are equally important.
