About the role: Make a rewarding difference in people’s lives every day with BCG. Whether you are new to the care sector or have experience, working within a BCG care home can be incredibly fulfilling.

As Chef, you will lead the kitchen team to serve delicious, well-balanced, and nutritious meals that our residents will love. You'll provide high-quality food service to support residents, responding to their needs and contributing to their overall positive experience in our care.

From managing food stock and designing menus to making the most of your budget, you’ll always have resident well-being in mind. You will ensure the Kitchen is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations.

About you: You will strive to deliver person-centred hospitality to the highest standards. Experience in a commercial kitchen environment is required, ideally within a care home setting, but this is not essential. You must be reliable and fully competent in all aspects of kitchen duties, including catering for special dietary needs, in line with the agreed budget.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
