Job Description

As a Chef, you'll deliver a high-quality, cost-effective catering service, preparing and serving nutritious meals while creating a positive dining experience for customers living in our Independent Living Villages. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll help maintain excellent standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and serve nutritious, well-presented meals for customers.
  • Support menu planning to provide varied, tasty and high-quality food.
  • Deliver all aspects of food preparation and meal service to a high standard.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
  • Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients and minimise waste.
  • Work closely with colleagues to create a welcoming dining atmosphere.
  • Help ensure food hygiene, health and safety standards are consistently met.
  • Provide flexible support across services and assist with the smooth running of the kitchen when needed.

Who You Are

  • Passionate about preparing great food and creating excellent dining experiences.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a professional kitchen or similar catering environment.
  • Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or are willing to refresh your training.
  • Knowledgeable about food hygiene, health and safety, allergens and special dietary requirements.
  • Organised, reliable and able to thrive in a busy environment.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Confident supporting and guiding Catering Assistants to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Flexible, adaptable and committed to continuously improving the service you provide.
