Job Description
Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Chef to join our team in York, YO1 4DH. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef to join a professional catering operation, delivering exceptional food across daily dining services and hospitality events.
As a Chef, you'll be a key member of our kitchen team, playing an important role in delivering great food and great customer experiences every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking dishes across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
- Providing silver service-level catering for events and functions
- Following recipe cards and maintaining excellent food safety standards
- Supporting stock control procedures and placing food orders
- Maintaining accurate kitchen records and documentation
- Monitoring equipment temperatures and ensuring compliance with food safety procedures
- Assisting with daily and weekly deep cleaning schedules
- Coaching and supporting new starters as they develop their skills
- Collaborating with the wider kitchen team to maintain high standards of food quality and service

Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Relevant culinary qualifications (NVQ Level 1 and Level 2, or equivalent)
- A confident team player with effective communication skills
- Flexible and proactive approach to work
- Passion for food and delivering high-quality meals
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- Innovative mindset and willingness to contribute ideas
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass security vetting and DBS checks
- Must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
