About The Role

Chef

Emersons Green, Bristol | Salary: £33,152 per year | Full-Time 37.5 hours per week

Are you a passionate Chef looking for a role where your food makes a real difference? We are looking for a talented and motivated Chef to join our busy catering team, delivering high-quality, nutritious meals within a healthcare environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a professional kitchen where quality, variety and customer satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do.

If you're a dedicated Chef who takes pride in creating delicious, nutritious meals and wants to be part of a team that genuinely makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

  • 2 week fixed rota, to include alternate weekend day shifts, average 7.5 hours per day, no late evenings.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and produce high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with menu planning and the development of creative, nutritious menus.
  • Support the management and supervision of kitchen staff.
  • Ensure all food hygiene, health & safety, COSHH, and infection control standards are maintained.
  • Cater for a range of dietary and nutritional requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels, control food wastage, and support ordering processes.
  • Maintain excellent food presentation and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and operational support in the absence of the Head Chef.

What we'll look for in you

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • NVQ Level 2 in Catering, City & Guilds 204/205/206, or equivalent.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Previous practical catering experience.
  • Experience of menu development and catering for special dietary requirements.
  • Good stock control and ordering knowledge.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and work using your own initiative.
  • A flexible, friendly, and professional approach.

Desirable

  • Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience working within a healthcare or hospital environment.
