Location: Baker Barracks, Emsworth, PO10 8DH
Salary: £25,043.20 (£13.71/hour)
Hours: Permanent, 35 hours/week, 5 days over 7 (1 weekend in 4)
Shift times: Earlies 06:30 – 14:00 or Lates 11:30 – 19:00
We’re looking for two Chefs to join our team at Baker Barracks and help create a welcoming space for our customers. If you love working with people and want a role that offers flexibility, training, and career growth, this could be the perfect fit.
You will be responsible for managing production and food levels to ensure minimal wastage and be supportive of new team members to support them with their learning procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.
To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements: you must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and have legal right to work in the UK and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
No two days look the same, but you can expect to:
- Preparing and cooking meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – plus fine dining for special events.
- Following recipes and all policies and procedures
- Working as part of a talented team and mentoring new colleagues.
- Managing stock, placing orders, and keeping kitchen records up to date.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Supporting with kitchen deep cleans and due diligence paperwork.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
You’ll shine in this role if you have:
- A relevant culinary qualification (706/1 or 706/2 or equivalent).
- A confident chef who loves working as part of a team.
- Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for great food.
- Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks (UK residency for the past 3 years required).
- Own transportation due to limited public transportation.
