Reach for Remarkable Chef – Make Your Mark in a Remarkable Team
Location: Imphal Barracks, York, YO1 4DH
Pay Rate: £15.04 per hour
Hours: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week (5 days out of 7, including some weekends)
Shifts: Early (06:00/07:00–14:00/15:00) & Late (10:00/11:00–18:00/19:00)

What you’ll do:
As a key member of our kitchen team, you’ll play a big part in delivering great food and a great experience every day:
- Preparing and cooking dishes across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
- Providing silver service-level catering for events and functions.
- Following recipe cards and maintaining excellent food safety standards.
- Supporting stock control, placing food orders, and keeping kitchen records up to date.
- Monitoring equipment temperatures and ensuring compliance.
- Pitching in with daily and weekly deep cleaning.
- Coaching and supporting new starters as they develop their skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Relevant culinary qualifications (NVQ Level 1 and Level 2 or equivalent).
- A confident team player with effective communication skills.
- Someone flexible, proactive, and keen to bring innovative ideas.
- Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks.
- Must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and legally able to work in the UK.
