Job Title: Chef for Surplus Food Community Cooking Workshops
Location: Rotherhithe Community Centre, 30 Plough Way, London SE16 2LJ
Schedule: Every other Thursday, 4-6pm
Role Overview:
RJ4All is seeking an enthusiastic and supportive chef with relevant qualifications (Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene, DBS Check) to lead our bi-weekly surplus food community cooking workshops.
Responsibilities:
- Lead bi-weekly surplus food community cooking workshops at Rotherhithe Community Centre.
- Prepare nutritious, low-cost, and culturally diverse meals using ingredients from our community fridge.
- Work independently and foster social connections, learning, and cooking skills-building among service users, families, local residents, and young people from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications: Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene, DBS Check.
- Experience working with local communities and preparing meals.
- Ability to work independently and interpersonally.
Compensation:
- Rate of £35 per workshop delivered.
- Up to £15 for additional ingredients purchased beyond what's available in the community fridge.

- Our Community Kitchen is equipped with:
- Double hob electric plug-in
- Mini oven
- Dual air fryer
- Microwave
- Pots, pans, cooking utensils
- Electric blender
- Serving utensils
