About the Role
Forbes Arms Hotel is looking for a passionate and reliable Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. We are a fresh-food kitchen with a strong focus on quality Scottish produce, good presentation and consistent standards.
As Chef de Partie, you will work alongside the Executive Head Chef, Head Chef, Sous Chef and the rest of the kitchen team. You will be responsible for your section, preparation and service while helping maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness and food safety.
- Take responsibility for your section and mise en place
- Deliver consistent cooking and presentation during service
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Follow food safety, HACCP and allergen procedures
- Support the wider kitchen team during preparation and service

Hours & Working Pattern
This is a full-time, hourly-paid position contracted at 40–45 hours per week across 4 working days. The normal working pattern is 4 days on / 3 days off. Any additional days worked outside your normal 4-day working pattern are paid as overtime.
Service Times
- Monday–Thursday: 12:00–19:00
- Friday–Sunday: Lunch & dinner service, finishing approximately 19:45
- Typical covers: 30–40 on weekdays and approximately 60–100 across lunch and dinner at weekends.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen
- Ability to confidently manage your own section
- Good preparation, organisation and time-management skills
- Passion for fresh food and quality ingredients
- Consistent standards of cooking and presentation
- Understanding of food safety, HACCP and allergen procedures
- Ability to remain organised during busy services
- Reliable and professional attitude
- Good communication and teamwork
The position could suit an experienced Chef de Partie or a strong Commis Chef/Demi Chef de Partie looking to take the next step.
