Scope of Role

The Chef de Partie would be reporting to the Sous Chef and be responsible for helping with the food production. The Chef de Partie will support the smooth day-to-day running of food preparation and working practices.

  • Support the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager in managing and delivering all catering services, ensuring member choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety.
  • Prepare nutritional and special diet meals to a high standard and in line with agreed mealtimes, following the Head Chef’s direction.
  • Maintain cost-effective stock control and equipment checks, minimizing waste and ensuring all equipment is regularly serviced and faults are reported promptly.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring member choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained.
  • Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
  • Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Develop effective working relationships with other members of the team to ensure cost effective, chargeable services are provided for members. Report any shortfalls to the Head Chef.
  • Support cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
  • Ensure equipment checks are maintained, liaising with the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment is serviced regularly. Report any faults immediately to the Maintenance Manager for action.
  • Attend initial and update mandatory training as required. Actively engage in personal professional supervision including quarterly one-to-one meetings and a yearly performance review, ensuring personal professional knowledge and competency is maintained.
