The Coal Shed Brighton

The Coal Shed Brighton is looking for a talented Chef de Partie who can work on a variety of sections to join our kitchen team.

You could expect to earn up to £43,000 per annum, inclusive of tronc.

Salary is £12.71 per hour plus tronc. Tronc is variable and is based on the restaurant’s business levels, performance and how many hours worked.

About The Coal Shed

Located in the heart of Brighton, The Coal Shed is a steak restaurant celebrating coal-roasted rare breed heritage meat and South Coast seafood, inspired by Founder Raz Helalat’s Persian roots and our passion for cooking over fire.

We keep our menu simple: exceptional quality ingredients, sourced as locally as possible and expertly cooked over coal.

Alongside our seasonal à la carte menu, we serve daily sharing specials, a great-value express lunch menu and Brighton’s favourite Sunday Sharing Roast.

About You

As a Chef de Partie, you will prepare and deliver dishes using quality, fresh ingredients and local products, ensuring everything is prepared with skill, care and passion.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
