Job Description

Location: 10 Donegall Square South

Join the culinary team at Ten Square Hotel, as a dedicated Chef de Partie. This pivotal role offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase your culinary talent and leadership potential. You will be instrumental in preparing, cooking, and presenting exceptional dishes with speed and precision, contributing directly to an outstanding dining experience for our guests. Beyond the pass, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation of our kitchen, actively supervising, mentoring, and inspiring junior chefs. The role is full time working 3-4 days per week depending on shift patterns, either 12 hour or 10 hour shifts.

Successful candidates will be expected to work evenings and weekends.

About The Role

  • To run and supervise any kitchen section to required standards
  • Prepare, cook, and present food, quickly and efficiently, meeting company standards
  • Support head chef in delivering high standard of food
  • Delegate jobs to junior chefs and support them in their development
  • Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic, and tidy, at all times
  • To understand and have a working knowledge of all current Health and Safety and food safety legislation
  • Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor and report any maintenance issues
  • Manage food wastage through correct procedures
  • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training
  • Always adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Be involved and contribute at team meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef and hotel management

Required Criteria

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Must have the right to work in UK
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a busy kitchen
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in professional cookery
  • Experience in supervising, mentoring, and inspiring junior chefs
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to work full-time, including 10-12 hour shifts
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends

Desired Criteria

  • 6 months experience in a similar role
