A great kitchen starts with great people. Could you be our next one?

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Broadham Green, nestled between Oxted, Hurst Green and Tandridge, The Haycutter is a much-loved Brunning & Price pub with a fascinating history dating back to 1851. With its huge bar, light-filled garden room, beautiful outdoor space and cosy historic areas, it's a pub that's all about great food, great hospitality and making people feel at home.

We're now looking for a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established kitchen where you can learn, develop and build a career in food.

Our Head Chef started his journey at the Haycutter as a Kitchen Porter back in 2017 and has progressed through the kitchen ranks — a great example of the career opportunities available within the team.

The kitchen produces the kind of food you'd expect from a Brunning & Price pub — fresh, seasonal, beautifully prepared dishes, from classic pub favourites through to more interesting and contemporary plates.

As a Chef de Partie, you'll take responsibility for your section, helping to deliver consistently high-quality dishes while working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team. We're looking for someone who is passionate about food, takes pride in their work and wants to keep developing their skills.

We're genuinely passionate about developing our chefs. You'll have access to training, development and opportunities to progress, whether that's developing your skills within the Haycutter or looking at future opportunities across the wider Brunning & Price estate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Our kitchens are places where chefs can learn from experienced people, try new things and build a career rather than simply work another shift.

The Haycutter isn't just another pub. It has been at the heart of the local community for generations and was successfully protected as an Asset of Community Value before Brunning & Price brought it back to life. Today, it's a thriving food-led pub surrounded by the Surrey countryside.

And with monthly pub walks, beautiful gardens and a fantastic local setting, there's plenty to love about being part of the Haycutter team both inside and outside the kitchen.
