Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Chef De Partie role based in Colchester. The Chef De Partie will prepare and cook high-quality Italian dishes to Carluccio’s standards, ensuring consistency, presentation, and taste. The role involves managing a specific section of the kitchen, coordinating with other chefs, and maintaining food safety and hygiene procedures. Responsibilities include supporting menu execution during busy service, assisting with stock rotation and ordering, and minimizing food waste. The Chef De Partie will also help train and guide junior kitchen team members and collaborate closely with front-of-house colleagues to deliver an excellent guest experience.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience as a Chef De Partie or similar kitchen role in a restaurant environment, ideally with Italian or fresh, seasonal cuisine.
- Strong culinary skills, including knife skills, sauce and pasta preparation, and ability to work confidently on a designated kitchen section.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and allergen awareness, with relevant certifications preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage time during busy services, and maintain high quality and cleanliness standards.
- Collaborative mindset with good communication skills and a commitment to supporting and developing colleagues in the kitchen team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in line with restaurant needs.
- Passion for Italian food, hospitality, and delivering a memorable guest experience; formal culinary training or qualifications are an advantage.
