About the Role

The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing their designated section of the kitchen and supporting the Sous Chefs and Head Chef in delivering consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and service. This role involves preparing and cooking dishes to specification, maintaining excellent organisation within their section, and ensuring all food is produced efficiently and to the highest standards.

Working as part of the wider kitchen team, the Chef de Partie will ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene standards while contributing to smooth kitchen operations during both restaurant and event services. The role requires strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a commitment to maintaining quality, consistency, and effective stock and waste control at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare all food items; opening and closing duties; replenishment and rotation of stock as directed by the Chef.
  • Set up of non-food items for shift; high level of sanitation awareness and conscientiousness; professional, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Inputting daily event sheets and daily reports.
  • Production of menu items in a timely manner and in accordance with company standards.
  • Ability to follow directions precisely and consistently; maintenance of work area and proper food storage; opening and closing duties.
  • Adheres to company guidelines and house rules, always exceeds guest expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow kitchen team members and front of house colleagues to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in the development and continuous improvement of menus, dishes, and food offerings.
  • Manages and controls overhead costs within agreed budgets.
  • Seek opportunities to drive site sales and reduce costs where appropriate.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in place to achieve and support agreed service standards.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Professional training through a culinary education or working in a fast-paced, high-volume fine dining restaurant/catering facility; full service casual dining preferred.
  • Must have two (2) to three (3) years working in a fast-paced high-end club, restaurant or similar.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage menu, specials and services offered.
  • Ability to assure compliance with company service standards, company inventory and cash control procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Understanding of food cost control, stock management, and company food service standards.
  • Ability to work Venue events including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Follow and encourage your team to follow all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to looking for and reporting any unsafe work conditions, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
  • Report all safety incidents (injuries and illnesses) on the same day that the safety incident has been reported to you.
