Your Job
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Prepare, cook and present dishes to a consistently high standard, following agreed recipes, portion controls and presentation guidelines.
- Take direction from the kitchen management team and support the monitoring of food quality, consistency and hygiene standards.
- Help ensure your section is fully prepared, organised and ready for service.
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised working environment throughout each shift.
- Follow HACCP procedures and all food safety, allergen and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Support your fellow kitchen team members and work collaboratively during preparation and busy service periods.
- Help to minimise food waste by following correct storage, stock rotation and portion-control procedures.
- Report any stock shortages, equipment issues or food-quality concerns to the Head Chef or Sous Chef promptly.
What You’ll Need
- Previous experience working in a hotel kitchen, restaurant or a similar fast-paced hospitality environment.
- A genuine passion for food and pride in producing high-quality dishes.
- A good understanding of HACCP procedures, food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
- The ability to remain calm, organised and efficient while working under pressure.
- A positive, reliable and professional approach to work.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A willingness to learn, develop and take direction from senior members of the kitchen team.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, as required.
