40 hours per week | 52 weeks per year | 5 days out of 7
Lodestone House, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, are now recruiting for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our catering team at Tonbridge School.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team at one of the UK's leading independent schools, working alongside experienced chefs to deliver high-quality food and exceptional service to pupils, staff and guests.
We are looking for a talented and passionate Chef de Partie who takes pride in using fresh ingredients, has excellent culinary skills and enjoys working as part of a professional kitchen team.
You will play an important role in delivering a high-quality food offer, taking responsibility for your section while supporting the wider kitchen team to maintain consistently high standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Running your section of the kitchen to a consistently high standard
- Preparing, cooking and presenting fresh food to the required quality, presentation and portion specifications
- Ensuring all dishes are prepared and served in line with recipes and food safety standards
- Supporting the development of menus and new food ideas
- Assisting with the training and development of Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants
- Ensuring food is stored correctly and working to minimise food waste
- Assisting with food ordering, deliveries and stock rotation
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and surrounding areas
- Ensuring the correct and safe use of kitchen equipment and machinery
- Following all company and client Health & Safety, Food Safety and allergen procedures
- Working closely with the wider brigade to ensure smooth and efficient food service
- Supporting the team during busy service periods and maintaining high standards under pressure

Who You Are
- An experienced Chef de Partie / CDP with a strong background in professional kitchens
- Passionate about fresh food, quality ingredients and excellent presentation
- A confident Chef with strong culinary skills and attention to detail
- Experienced in running a section within a busy kitchen environment
- Able to work effectively as part of a professional kitchen brigade
- Knowledgeable about Food Safety, HACCP, allergens and Health & Safety
- Organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure
- Passionate about developing your skills and keeping up with current food trends
- A positive team player with excellent communication skills
- Committed to delivering exceptional food and service
- Professional in appearance, attitude and approach

At Tonbridge School, you'll be part of an experienced catering team where quality, professionalism and great food are at the heart of the operation.
As this is an education environment, you will be required to provide appropriate references and undertake an Enhanced DBS / Criminal Record Check, which we will pay for. You must be willing to wait for the clearance to be completed before commencing work.
