Role Description
The Chef De Partie is a full-time, on-site role based at The Bull Inn in Much Hadham. In this position, you will manage a specific section of the kitchen, preparing and cooking dishes to the required standards and ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.

Your responsibilities will include:


Get help with your application

- Supporting menu execution
- Maintaining stock levels
- Assisting with ordering
- Helping train and guide junior kitchen team members
Daily responsibilities include:
- Following food safety procedures
- Keeping your workstation clean and organized
- Cooperating with the Head Chef and Sous Chef
- Contributing ideas for specials or menu improvements
You will work as part of a fast-paced team to ensure smooth service for lunches, dinners, and events.
Qualifications
- Professional experience as a Chef De Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up, ideally in a quality pub, restaurant, or hotel environment.
- Solid knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations, with attention to detail in plating and presentation.
- Understanding of food hygiene, safety regulations, and allergen awareness, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, communicate clearly with colleagues, and remain calm and organized during busy service.
- Strong time-management skills, reliability, and flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Culinary training or relevant catering qualifications are beneficial but not essential if supported by solid practical experience.
- Interest in seasonal ingredients, fresh food, and developing new dishes or specials in line with the pub’s style.
- Right to work in the UK and capability to commute reliably to Much Hadham for on-site work.
