It is a sought-after wedding venue in the North West, known for its chic function rooms, rural setting, and experienced events team, complemented by superb cuisine. The Fairway Grill Restaurant and Bar delivers a “Total Dining Experience” with seasonal, high-quality menus and a strong reputation in the region. The on-site spa provides a tranquil, luxury environment ideal for relaxing spa breaks, weekends, and day treatments.

Role Description

The Chef De Partie role is a full-time, on-site position based at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa in Formby. The Chef De Partie will manage a designated section of the kitchen, preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes in line with the Fairway Grill’s standards and seasonal menus. Responsibilities include maintaining high levels of food quality and consistency, ensuring strict hygiene and safety practices, and supporting the smooth running of service in collaboration with the wider kitchen brigade. The role involves assisting with menu development, stock control, and minimizing food waste, as well as mentoring junior team members to help build skills and maintain a positive, professional kitchen environment. The Chef De Partie will work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure an excellent dining experience for guests.

  • Strong culinary skills, including Cooking and Culinary Skills relevant to a high-quality restaurant environment.
  • Solid Food Preparation skills, including experience with mise en place and efficient section management.
  • Thorough knowledge of Hygiene standards, including food safety, kitchen cleanliness, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Effective Communication skills to collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams and follow instructions clearly.
  • Relevant professional kitchen experience in hotels, resorts, or quality restaurants is highly beneficial.
  • Formal culinary training or a relevant catering qualification is an advantage.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
