Catering Chef de Partie

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Catering Chef de Partie to join our team at One Southwark Bridge, working in an internal restaurant catering to up to 1000 staff daily. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality meals with efficiency and creativity. You'll be part of a dynamic kitchen team where no two days are the same, creating meals that fuel our vibrant community of staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the production kitchen, maintaining high standards of food service and creativity.
  • Provide hot and cold meals to up to 1000 team members daily, ensuring consistency, quality, and timeliness.
  • Manage specific sections, ensuring the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals consistently meet high standards.
  • Assist in creating seasonal menus that cater to diverse tastes, dietary requirements, and volume needs.
  • Ensure meals are produced efficiently while maintaining creativity and attention to detail.
  • Protect the health and safety of all guests and team members by following food safety, health, and hygiene standards, ensuring all due diligence paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Contribute to fostering a positive and collaborative team culture by maintaining composure and enthusiasm, even during busy or high-pressure periods.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and supplier communication to ensure kitchen operations run seamlessly.
  • Support with training and development of junior team members and kitchen porters, helping to create a high-performing, supportive team.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong background in high-volume catering or production kitchens, with experience in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining quality at scale.
  • Ability to create a variety of dishes that balance flavor, creativity, and efficiency.
  • Confidence in handling high-pressure situations while staying organized and calm.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, with the ability to follow best practices.
  • Excellent multitasking and time-management skills to handle volume and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with a passion for mentoring and supporting colleagues.
