Come and cook with us at The Tivoli, Cambridge
Looking for your next step in the kitchen?
The Tivoli is one of Cambridge's most exciting hospitality venues, and we're looking for a talented Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.
Set across five floors, The Tivoli is home to two food kitchens, four bars, indoor golf, shuffleboard, private events and a brilliant roof terrace overlooking Jesus Green. It's a lively, varied environment where there's always something happening and plenty of opportunity to learn.
We're passionate about fresh, seasonal food and giving our chefs the opportunity to develop their skills and have a say in what we serve. You'll work closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chefs, learning how to deliver great food consistently while developing your own confidence and creativity in the kitchen, but most of all - we want our chefs to love coming to work!
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and cooking fresh, seasonal ingredients to a high standard.
- Running your section confidently during service.
- Helping create and develop dishes, specials and seasonal menus.
- Working closely with the wider kitchen team to deliver smooth, consistent service.
- Supporting and developing junior members of the team.
- Keeping your section organised, clean and ready for service.
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
- Getting involved in events and different styles of service across the venue.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
