Chef / Café Kitchen Manager

Bromsgrove | £32,000 – £35,000

Trevor James Recruitment are currently working with a fantastic café business in Bromsgrove who are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to take full ownership of their food offering.

This is a great opportunity for a Chef who wants more than just turning up, cooking the same menu and going home.

You will have full responsibility for the food operation, from menu planning and food preparation through to maintaining quality and developing the offering. There is plenty of scope for the successful Chef to put their own stamp on the café, introduce new ideas and develop the menu based on customer demand.

There will also be opportunities to introduce theme nights, special events and new food concepts, giving you the freedom to be creative and make the role your own.

The Role

  • Take full responsibility for the café's food offering
  • Plan, develop and create menus
  • Prepare and cook a high-quality range of café-style food
  • Maintain consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Manage food ordering, stock levels and minimise waste
  • Ensure all food hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained
  • Introduce new dishes and seasonal specials
  • Develop ideas for theme nights and special events
  • Work closely with the wider team to create a great customer experience
  • Have the freedom to put your own stamp on the kitchen and food offering

About You

We are looking for an experienced Chef who is passionate about food and enjoys having the freedom to be creative.

You will ideally have experience working in a café, restaurant, pub, hotel or similar environment and be comfortable taking ownership of a kitchen and food operation.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to get involved, bring ideas to the table and help develop the business rather than simply follow an established menu.

Working Hours

  • Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00am – 3:00pm

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chef looking for daytime hours and a genuine work-life balance, with no late evenings or split shifts.
