Location: Dungeness Power Station

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Between 07:00 and 14:30

About The Role

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our catering team at Dungeness Power Station.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Chef who takes pride in delivering great food, maintaining high standards and creating a positive experience for customers. You'll play an important role in supporting the Chef Manager with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, while helping to lead and develop a small team.

With Monday-to-Friday daytime hours, this role offers a great opportunity to combine your culinary skills and leadership experience with a structured working pattern.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Chef, you'll help deliver a high-quality, efficient and customer-focused catering service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting meals to an consistently high standard
  • Supporting menu planning and development, taking account of nutritional, dietary and budgetary requirements
  • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and food safety
  • Supporting the Chef Manager with the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen
  • Supervising, supporting and mentoring junior members of the kitchen team
  • Ordering stock and managing kitchen supplies effectively to minimise waste and control costs
  • Ensuring all company, regulatory, food safety and site-specific standards are consistently followed
  • Contributing to a positive team environment and delivering excellent customer service

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a confident, reliable and organised Chef who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in delivering quality food and service.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience working as a Chef, preferably within a high-volume catering environment
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for producing quality food
  • Experience of supporting or supervising a kitchen team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and compliance requirements
  • The ability to work effectively in a structured and safety-focused environment
