Novotel Coventry
At Novotel Coventry, we are passionate about delivering memorable dining experiences for our guests. We are currently looking for a Chef to join our kitchen team and help ensure every breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack is prepared and served to the highest standard.
The Role
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality food in line with brand standards, while maintaining excellent levels of food safety, consistency, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack menus to agreed standards.
- Ensure all food preparation and service meets the specifications set by the Head Chef and management.
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times.
- Prepare orders accurately in line with recipes, instructions, and checks.
- Adhere to portion control procedures and report any wastage to the senior chef on duty.
- Ensure correct storage of food items, following company policies on stock rotation, segregation, and day-dotting.
- Complete daily temperature checks for fridges and freezers as required.
- Receive, check, and store deliveries correctly within designated timeframes.
- Maintain clear communication with front-of-house and other hotel departments during service.
- Report any maintenance issues, equipment faults, or accidents immediately.

- Previous experience as a Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
