CHEFS WANTED — JOIN THE MOORLAND KITCHEN TEAM

We’re looking for Chefs, Junior Sous Chefs & Sous Chefs to join our team.

Create memorable food in one of Devon’s most iconic settings.

Nestled beneath the dramatic silhouette of Haytor, The Moorland is more than a country hotel. It is a place steeped in history, surrounded by nature and brought to life by extraordinary people.

Dating back to 1887 and famously associated with Agatha Christie, The Moorland offers guests a timeless Dartmoor retreat — and our kitchen plays a huge part in making every stay memorable.

We’re looking for talented and passionate Chefs, Junior Sous Chefs and Sous Chefs to join our kitchen brigade and help us create exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

YOUR KITCHEN. YOUR CRAFT. OUR STORY.

Led by the Head Chef, our kitchen team takes pride in menus that combine timeless British favourites with innovative, trend-led dishes.

We believe great cooking starts with great ingredients.

Our chefs work with carefully selected local suppliers, from high-quality meats from Bailey & Sons of Devon and free-range poultry from Sladesdown Farm in Ashburton, to fresh fish delivered daily from Kingfisher Brixham, sourced directly from Brixham’s famous fish market.

Our coffee is roasted on Dartmoor. Our produce has provenance. Our menus are designed to let exceptional ingredients speak for themselves.

As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with quality produce, develop your skills and bring your own creativity and personality to the food we serve.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
