CHEFS & HEAD OF BANQUETING WANTED — JOIN THE LION INN TEAM

Create memorable food and unforgettable occasions in a historic Essex inn with real character.

Set in the heart of the village of Boreham, The Lion Inn is a much-loved country inn where great food, warm hospitality and genuine character come together.

With its historic setting, welcoming atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, The Lion Inn is a destination for guests looking to enjoy great food, comfortable stays and memorable occasions.

And at the heart of that experience are our kitchen and banqueting teams.

We’re looking for talented and passionate Chefs and a Head of Banqueting to join our team and help us deliver the high standards of food, service and hospitality our guests have come to expect.

YOUR CRAFT. YOUR TEAM. OUR STORY.

Our kitchen team takes pride in creating food that is seasonal, approachable and full of flavour, combining classic British favourites with contemporary dishes.

We believe great cooking starts with great ingredients.

Working with quality produce and carefully selected suppliers, our chefs have the opportunity to create food that lets the ingredients speak for themselves.

From breakfast through to lunch, dinner and events, our food plays an important role in the guest experience.

Alongside our kitchen operation, our banqueting team delivers everything from private celebrations and weddings to meetings, events and special occasions.

As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with quality ingredients, develop your skills, bring your own creativity and personality to what we do, and build your career within the Coaching Inn Group.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
