Job Introduction

A Chef is required to assist with the preparation of all foods for residents, staff, and visitor food services. Working within our business centre hosting up to two hundred business staff, varying from working professionals to 3500 college students, we offer excellent opportunities to gain experience your skills.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Qualified Chef
  • Food Preparation skills and Food safety management
  • Knowledge of nutrition and precise flavour management
  • Good knife skills
  • Hygiene compliance
  • Ability to adhere to legislation, health, and safety.
  • Leadership and the ability to effectively manage resource.
  • Attention to detail, combined with good literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience of working within a team, able to display excellent communication skills
  • Creativity

Desirable

  • Experience within a similar working environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • To prepare, cook and present food for all staff breakfast, lunch and dinner following the agreed recipes and standards/ production schedules set by MCR Property Group
  • Assist with the preparation of all food, considering specific needs and special diet requirements.
  • Assist with the planning of menus, orders, and rota organisation.
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the food preparation and service areas at all times, ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and tidy.
  • To follow all company and legal food hygiene regulations.
  • To follow and comply with all health and safety regulations set by the company and legally required.
  • To work in clean, tidy, and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that restaurant is always clean and tidy.
  • Manage stock control and rotation.
  • Always provide helpful and friendly and welcoming service and environment in staff restaurant.
  • To ensure all food goes out to patients at the agreed times.
  • To accurately record all food wastage and report to manager
  • Make sure that requests by patients or staff with special dietary requirements are provided for.
  • Check dates on food and dispose of any out-of-date food.
  • Complete audit and quality standard documentation. (including filling temperature and cleaning records, as required)
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required.
  • Deputise for the chef manager when needed.

Salary/Rate £13.50 per hour paid monthly (working hours Tuesday to Friday 11.30am till 8pm, Saturday 8am till 2pm, note breaks of 1 hour per shift are included and unpaid - overtime available)

  • 23 days' annual leave (increasing by 1 day per year of service up to a maximum of 25 days), plus all statutory bank holidays and your birthday off as an additional paid day of leave to celebrate.
