Job Description

About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated Chef to join the team at a new opening at the Royal Portbury docks. Providing meals to staff over breakfast and lunch periods. Working independently in the kitchen at times as well as serving, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality breakfasts and lunches using prepped items supplied by our Central Production Kitchen. Acting at times to assist front-of-house team member by handling food service to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for on-site staff using supplied ingredients
- Work independently to manage all kitchen operations during your shift
- Help building made to order sandwiches and building plates from the service line
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company policies
- Complete all compliance and HACCP paperwork accurately and on time
- Coordinate with the front-of-house team member to ensure smooth and friendly service
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

Qualifications
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ Level 2 or Commis Chef Level 2
- Food Safety Level 2 (or able to achieve on appointment)
- Health & Safety Level 1 qualification
- Basic COSHH
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in contract catering or workplace dining
- Confident working alone in a kitchen setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen compliance procedures
- Reliable, self-motivated, and organised
- Passionate about delivering fresh, nutritious food and great service
Skills / Knowledge / Experience Required
- Good organisational skills
- Good interpersonal skills including clear concise communication and instruction
- Relevant catering experience commensurate with position
- Kitchen experience to sous chef level or equivalent
- Experience of Food Safety Management/HACCP systems operation
- Able to work under pressure, against timeline and sometimes changing information
- A sense of humour and a positive attitude, as at times work streams rapidly change and can be testing in terms of challenging understanding

Pre-Employment Screening
